Ghulab Jamun

INGREDIENTS

Dough:

1 cup plain flour (Maida)
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoon oil
2 tablespoon warm milk
1 egg

Syrup:
2 cup sugar
3 cup water
Cardamom (Yelaka) powder
Rosewater (Paneer)

METHOD:

Make the Syrup:

Boil the sugar and water together to make syrup. Add the cardamon powder and rose water.

Make the Ghulab Jamun dough:

Dry ingredients-

Sift the flour. And then add baking powder to the flour. Make a well in the middle and then add the oil, egg and warm milk to this well – adding the milk gradually.

Mix all these ingredients nicely to make a dough. Once kneaded, cover dough with wet clothes.
Now rub some oil on  hand and Make approximately 20 balls from this dough – keep covered.

Heat pan of oil – should be medium heat.
Fry the balls 10 at a time. When frying, cover it, then turn the flame off. Leave for 5 minutes to cook in that heat (like dum).

After 5 mins, uncover it and put the flame again, low heat. Keep turning the balls in the oil slowly, fry until balls are dark brown.

Once dark brown, take balls and put into the warm syrup. Cover and cook on very low flame for few minutes.

Take out of syrup and keep in separate bowl.
