
Couscous Ladoo
Makes: Approx 25 ladoos
INGREDIENTS:
Syrup: (1&¼ cup white sugar and ¼ cup water)
½ cup gram Flour (Besan)
1&¼ cup water
¾ cup couscous (can be bought in any supermarket)
½ cup Ghee
Cardamom powder – 1 teaspoon
Food colour (yellow)
Rose water – 2 teaspoon
Nuts for decorations (Pistachio or Almond)
METHOD
1. Heat the ghee in a big pan, and add the besan to it – Roast it in that. Then keep aside
2. Now in a separate microwavable bowl, add the 1&¼ cup water to the ¾ cup couscous and cook in microwave for 3 to 4 minutes. Take out and keep aside.
3. Now to make syrup: Make syrup with the 1&½ cup white sugar and ¼ cup water.
4. Now add this syrup to the roasted Besan. Also add the cardamom powder and nuts to this and then some food colour. Stir this altogether, and then add the cooked cousocus which is made. Stir altogether and cook over low heat till it binds together. Now add the rose water.
5. Now make approx 15 to 20 Ladoo balls with this mixture. As a decoration you can add sliced almond or pistachio on top.
Handy Tips: You can put sugar candy / Misry inside each Ladoo ball – This is optional.
